A new venue for the annual Michael Egan Memorial Book Fair guarantees lovers of books 20,000 reasons to save the dates, according to one of the organisers, Rotarian Peter Bartley.
The hard-working team from the Rotary Club of Dubbo Macquarie will throw open the barn doors – well actually, the pavilion at the Dubbo Showground – to welcome new and returning crowds on the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, May 26-27.
“We’re thrilled to have the new space. We’ll be doing our best to move as many books as possible. Prices are very good this year,” Mr Bartley said.
Volunteers are also welcome to make themselves known and in the first instance can contact Peter to find out the best times to assist.
“We are grateful to get help every year from the RFDS Volunteers and the Men’s Shed,” he said.
Anyone wishing to donate books can still do so by dropping them to the Dubbo Showground pavilion on Friday, May 25.
Proceeds raised will go equally to the RFDS Dubbo Support Group and the Bill Walsh Cancer Research Centre at RNS Hospital in Sydney.
The book fair will operate on Saturday, May 26, from 8am to 4pm, and on Sunday, May 27, from 9am to 1pm.
