Dubbo mayor Cr Josh Black is the special guest of the Dubbo and District Family History Society at their August "Share Your Story" meeting.

Cr Black will regale attendees with stories from a branch of his family from the north coast, "where cedar was king", organiser Lyn Smith told Dubbo Photo News.

The mayor has been a resident of the Dubbo region for over 40 years, and his family stories are bound to entertain and enlighten.

If planning to attend, the event will take place in the Drama Room (formerly Black Box theatre), upstairs in the Community Arts Centre, Wingewarra Street, Dubbo.

"Stay for a chat over a cuppa after the talk," Lyn said.
