Dubbo and Mudgee will soon be home to new fast-charging electric vehicle (EV) stations as part of a major investment to expand NSW’s EV infrastructure.

The latest state grant funding, bolstered by private sector contributions, will see 246 fast and ultra-fast chargers installed across 38 locations, including Dubbo and Mudgee.

Chargers will be powered by renewable energy and deliver rapid top-ups – charging batteries from 10 to 80 per cent in just 10 to 15 minutes. Importantly, many sites will feature disability access and pull-through bays for EVs towing caravans or trailers, easing long-distance travel.

Making charging faster and eliminating range anxiety are key to getting more EVs on the road in NSW, according to Minister for Climate Change and Energy Penny Sharpe.

"These charging stations will make it easier to charge EVs away from home, while also helping to reduce climate pollution.”

Major providers BP, Energy Australia, Plus ES, Tesla and NRMA will build the infrastructure.
