Dubbo College students and staff have broken records by achieving the best HSC results in recent history.

Senior Campus principal Marisha Blanco said the school’s leadership team was thrilled with the results, with an increase of Band Six results from the previous year.

“These results are reflective of the power of public education. We have such diversity in terms of not only the number of students who have received outstanding results, but the diversity of courses those results are represented in,” Miss Blanco said.

“This was achieved across a diverse range of subjects, from Vocational Education to Extension 2 English.”

Dubbo College uses a holistic approach to ensure students’ needs are met regarding their development and education.

“This year reinforces the strength, power and impact that a teacher has within the classroom,” Miss Blanco said.

“We’ve been afforded these results this year without having interruptions, even though we had challenges of students being isolated.

“This year we boast an above-state-average across 14 courses.

“Not only do our students have these results, but the life skills to take on their futures.”

Dubbo College Senior Campus dux student Lauren Priddis received an ATAR of 97.85.

“I got a good night’s sleep, I was up at 6am, I was so excited to get my results,” Lauren said.

Lauren studied Mathematics Advanced, English Advanced, Chemistry, Visual Arts, Biology, Animal Studies TAFE, and achieved four Band Six results in her HSC.

Lauren said her parents, teachers and friends have supported her throughout the year.

Next year Lauren will work with Taronga Western Plains Zoo to complete her Certificate III in Exhibited Animals and Wildlife Care before studying Veterinary Science in university.
