An uplifting and practical conversation about resilience, wellbeing and recovery will take place in Dubbo this month when respected communicator Robyn Moore AM joins community members, local organisations and leaders at Dubbo RSL on Wednesday, September 16.

The national voice-over artist, speaker and resilience advocate will host a Resilience-Building Masterclass on Restoring Love, Life and Laughter, sharing practical tools to help individuals, families and communities navigate life's challenges.

Presented by the Women's Resilience Centre and proudly supported locally by Connecting Community Services (CCS), the event is one of three Building Resilience Talks being delivered across the Central West this spring, with other events occurring in Orange and Bathurst.

Designed to strengthen community connection, inspire hope and equip people with everyday resilience strategies, the Dubbo masterclass supports the wide reaching work of the CCS (also known as the Dubbo Neighbourhood Centre Ltd) to strengthen community connections, improve access to support, and create opportunities for people from diverse backgrounds to participate, connect and thrive.

CCS CEO Michelle Hawke said the organisation was proud to help bring this important event to Dubbo.

"Our regional communities are strongest when we come together, support one another and create opportunities to build resilience,” she said.

“We invite our local community to come together for a morning of connection, laughter, learning and practical tools for everyday life."

Readers may be unaware that the Women's Resilience Centre is a national, free long-term recovery service supporting women and families rebuilding after domestic abuse, trauma and adversity.

Through trauma-informed programs, mentoring, coaching and practical support, the centre has assisted more than 610 women across 220 locations throughout Australia, helping participants move beyond survival and build resilient, thriving futures.

Its founder Simone Allan said the regional talks are designed to bring communities together around hope, healing and practical action.

"Resilience is not something we are born with; it is something we can build,” she said.

“These talks are about sharing practical tools, inspiring stories and creating stronger communities where people feel connected, supported and empowered to move forward."

The Dubbo Master Class runs from 11am to 1.15pm on Wednesday, September 16, at Dubbo RSL and is open to anyone interested in strengthening their resilience and wellbeing. Tickets cost $25 and are available via www.123tix.com.au/events/54828/building-resilience-talks-dubbo-nsw.
