The Dubbo Show Society and Gail Fletcher and the Fletcher family are looking forward to holding their annual New Year’s Eve firework evening at the Dubbo Showground.

The $2 event will feature food and market stalls, entertainment, water skirmish, a ride for the children, and fireworks.

Show Society president Wesley Temessl thanked Gail and the Fletcher family for being such strong supporters of the community event for the past few years.

“There’s nothing else like this in Dubbo so we’re really happy to be continuing it,” Mr Temessl told Dubbo Photo News.

Mr Temessl said the annual event was previously held at Apex Oval but has been supported by the Dubbo Show Society for the past four years.

“It’s a good central spot in Dubbo for people to attend,” he said.

“The fireworks are very popular for the kids.”

Show Society secretary Sue Hood hopes to welcome more than 6000 people in the venue.

“This is a complete community event for Dubbo residents to enjoy,” Ms Hood said.

She said that it is a glass- and alcohol-free event, but people are permitted to bring their own food.

The ground gates will open from 5pm with the fireworks commencing at 9pm. Tickets can be purchased on 123Tix for $2.
