Police have launched an investigation into the death of a man whose body was discovered at a home in Wellington late on Friday evening (July 25).
Officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District attended the residence on Walker Crescent around 10.15pm following a concern-for-welfare report.
Upon entering the home, police say they found the body of a man, believed to be in his 60s and understood to be a resident of the property. The identity of the deceased is yet to be formally confirmed.
A crime scene was immediately established, and police have commenced inquiries to determine the circumstances surrounding the man's death, which they are treating as suspicious.
Investigators are appealing for public assistance and urge anyone who was in the area at the time, or who may have dashcam or mobile phone footage, to contact Wellington Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
