The many fans of Braith Nock were feeling happy when the star apprentice landed the winners of the first three races on Monday, November 24 at Wellington.

Bred and raced by John Davis from Parkes and trained by Brett Thompson at Gulgong, Billabong Alvin ($4.80) became the first of the Nock winners when leading throughout to beat Alpine Rose (Zoe Hunt, $4.20) and Sabatina (Ken Dunbar, $2.25 favourite) in the 1700 metres Congratulations Life Member Gillian Ryan-Class 1 & Maiden Plate.

From the Brett and Georgie Cavanough stable at Scone, Naftali ($1.40 favourite) then came from back in the field with Braith Nock aboard to win the 1400 KFC Maiden Plate.

Completing the Braith Nock treble, Capsity ($9.50), also trained by the Cavanoughs, swept down the outside to edge out the leader Gail Jeanette (Donovan Dillon, $2.89 fav.) and Imastatement (Izzy Neale, $3.70) in the 1000 metres Allendale Merino Stud Maiden Plate.

At the third career start, after good runs at Dubbo and Wellington, the three-year old gelding Kevin broke through to win the 1100 Lousick Earthmoving Maiden Handicap for Dubbo trainer Brett Robb.

A half brother to outstanding gallopers Gallant Star, Kevin (Izzy Neale, $1.90 favourite) jumped in front and was not threatened when a convincing winner from Vicious Rumour (Shayleigh Ingelse, $2.90) and Play Gem (Donovan Dillon, $101).

Apprenticed to Brett Robb, Izzy Neale was also the rider on the Natalie Pearce, Dubbo-trained Sports Page, $4.40) which had a cosy run on the rails before finishing best to account for Marnoo (Kody Nestor, $10) and the leader Accrue (Billy Cray, $13) in the 1600 metres Stuart Town Pub-Ironbark Inn Benchmark 66 Handicap.

Another Dubbo apprentice, Zoe Hunt, continued her run of success when she won the 1000 metres JD Refrigeration and Air Conditioning on the Clint Lundholm, locally-trained Keadool.

Owned by Michael Kennedy, formerly from the Come-By-Chance area and now residing at Orange, Keadool ($3.20) from the outside barrier enjoyed a nice run and defeated

Brummagen (Dylan Stanley, $3.10) by a head with over three lengths to Yorkel (Kody Nestor, $3.20).

In a good day for Dubbo based apprentices, Jacob Stiff with a well judged ride gained clear running from midfield on the Michael Mulholland, Dubbo-trained Shadow Dane, $7 to $6.50) to win the 1100 metres Wellington Soldiers Memorial Club Benchmark 58 Handicap from Trumpty Dumpty (Braith Nock, $5.50) and Seven Mile Missile (Izzy Neale, $3.40 favourite).

Wellington will next race on Boxing Day while in the meantime, Narromine racing takes place on Tuesday, December 2, and the Mudgee Cup is on Friday, December 5.
