Narromine Shire Council invites applications from eligible community organisations and groups for assistance with projects, operational costs, donations or rates through its annual Donations, Sponsorships and Waiver of Fees Policy.
Between now and September 30, eligible groups can apply for up to $5000 through the annual program, which reflects Council's ongoing commitment to supporting local groups that do so much for their communities.
General Manager Jane Redden said some of the Narromine region’s most valued community events, programs and organisations are driven by passionate volunteers, and the council is proud to support their efforts.
"One of the things I love most about the Narromine Shire is that when there's a good idea, people don't wait for someone else to make it happen. They roll up their sleeves and get to work," Mrs Redden said.
"Our community is full of passionate volunteer organisations and groups who give their time to create opportunities for others, whether it's through sport, arts, culture, community events, or simply bringing people together.
“This funding program is about backing these groups and helping great projects become a reality," she added.
Last year 19 local organisations received funding, including Trangie CWA, Narromine Sporting Clays Association, Narromine Community Women's Shed, Orana Beekeepers, Trangie Netball Association, Narromine Wetlands parkrun, Narromine Tennis Club and Trangie Team Penning.
