Rapid-fire black rhino births expected at Zoo mid-winter

They have a face that a mother could love, and keepers at Taronga Western Plains Zoo are preparing for the pitter patter of little rhinoceros’ hooves in 2024.

This is because the Zoo’s Southern Black Rhino conservation breeding program is set to welcome two new baby to the project, with expectant mums Bakhita and Mesi due to give birth in July and August, respectively.
