Blue skies prevailed throughout all the bowling events held at Sporties last week. No cards were found for Saturday afternoon mixed bowls, but Judy O'Connor sent me a photo of the winners and they were Annette McMillan and Anthony Coe.

Tuesday Ladies Day, sponsored by N.B.E. Electrical, saw 10 ladies take to the greens, with Sue O'dea and Karen Greenhalgh defeating Christine Sinclair and Trish Gosper to take out first place.

Mary Perry, Robyn Hellyer and Cheryl Storch defeated Helen Emblem, Pat Sherwin and Ruby Stockings while Judy O'Connor scored the Consistency Singles match between Merrill O'Sullivan and Wanda King. Congratulations to Merrill O'Sullivan on her win in this match.

Wednesday morning Men’s Social was well supported with 30 bowlers lining up for the Robbie Cook Auto Electrical Triples event. Winners for the morning were Dave “Gumpy” Collins, Eric Satchell and Mike Twohill, who defeated Barry Young, Mel Giddings and Ian Hobson.

In second place was Ken Whitiker, Vitt Mascaro and Peter Sinclair, who defeated Dennis Crimmins, Terry Duncan and Phil Knight. Todd O'dea, Doug Aldis and Greg Hough defeated Leo Balstad, Frank Armstrong and Steve Kelly while Brian Coffee, Eric Bradshaw and Doug Back defeated Robert Pfeiffer, Ron Wiegold and Matt Goodwin.

Chris Strojny, Dennis Jasprizza and Peter Lesueur also defeated Paul “The Phantom” Goodstat, Paul Wooldridge, and Neil Hayburn in a very close game (only one point the difference), missing out on the closest game by one end.

There were no resters, and the closest game went to the Greg Hough team. The jackpot was not won and lives until next week. Don't forget that locker fees are now due! Check the noticeboard for upcoming events.
