Club Championships
Last Saturday, in a classic match that had the spectators on their feet throughout, the final of the Mixed Fours Championship between Marg Rich, John Fardell, Bev Goss, and Barry Fernando against Kelly Dart, Gavin Dart, Jess Gibson, and Anthony Brown, proved a thriller.
Despite some heroics over the final few ends by Barry Fernando, it was Anthony Brown’s team that emerged victors on the very last end.

Social Bowls
In last Sunday’s annual East versus West Challenge, the coastal side had no answers for the westerners, who belted the opposition five rinks to one. Best for the West side were Wayne Middleton, Neil Riley, and Trevor Williams, closely followed by John Davis, Gai Morrison, and Max Low. The sole winners for Easts were Fay Holmes, Bev Margery, and Bev Goss.
John Lynch (Goolwa SouthAustralia), Gai Morrison and Max Low gave last Wednesday’s large field a bowling lesson, careering away with the spoils. Runners-up (on a count-back) were Alan Gardoll (Cobar) and Dorian Abel. Third spot went to Ozzy Osborne (Bundaberg) and club president, Steve Ryan. Neil Riley won the sizeable Lucky Draw money.
On Friday, Ray Strawhan and Bill Van Der Mey teamed up to win from the triples’ combination of Wayne Middleton, Barry Sigsworth, and John Fardell. Ben Dover won the lucky draw.

Members keen to represent West Dubbo in next year’s Open Gender Pennants are urged to place their names down now. Players chosen in 2026 will have the added incentive of wearing the new club uniform which is also on display in the club house.
