The footballing world is at the feet of young Macquarie United product, Logan Johnson.

After scoring the most goals in the Western Premier League Football last season, Logan has this season stepped up to showcase his skills in the NSW Youth League soccer competition.

Logan’s last-minute decision to this year trial for the Central West Football Club in their inaugural season has, however, put him in the big league of football, paying huge dividends for both him and the fledgling group, CWFC President Troy Kearney recently told Dubbo Photo News.

“Logan Johnson has been superb all season, banging in multiples on a number of occasions. [In his most recent outing], he netted five or six times and assisted in at least as many others,” Troy revealed.

“He is an exceptional talent and attributes much of his success to Technical Head Coach Jamie Lobb, who he was mentored by in the Macquarie United premiership-winning team last year,” he said proudly.

Logan is one of more than 20 Under 13 to Under 18 local players who travel to Bathurst and Orange twice a week for training and then to either Orange, Bathurst or a Sydney-based venue to play against the State’s best.

“The commitment of all the players and their families is incredible; many of them have multiple activities in their lives and players like Logan have CHS and representative commitments as well as HSC studies,” Troy explained.

You have to admire them for persisting in the cold winter nights.”

Troy says CWFC has exceeded all expectations in its first season.

“We are currently fourth in the BYL Club Championships and our Under 14s, 15s and 18s are on the cusp of playing finals in coming weeks,” Troy concluded.

Logan was named Player of the Tournament at the CHS Carnival earlier this year and has been selected in the NSW team.

The young striker has been sighted by scouts from NSW Cup teams and will be heading east for trials as soon as his CWFC commitments are finished for the year.
