Minor Pairs

The first round of the Minor Pairs Championships will be played this Sunday morning.

The Men’s Major/Minor Pairs Championship is now down to the final following last weekend’s semi-finals. Nathan Collis and Gavin Dart booked their place in the decider with a strong 24–13 victory over the experienced combination of John Sill and Bill Abbott.

In the other semi, Barry Fernando and Mick Smith caused an upset, defeating the highly fancied pairing of Dan Morris and Grant Gudmunson, 25–16. Congratulations to both winning teams. Final details will be announced shortly!

Wed/Sat Socials

The slippery surface and quick pace on Wednesday had a few of the 30 contesting players scratching their heads, but Mary Ney, Bev Margery and Greg Collin eventually claimed the win. They outlasted Pam Dawson, Leanne Erwin and Dianne Wilson, while John Fardell and Warren Towney grabbed third place.

Friday attracted another strong turnout, with Barry Sigsworth, Steve Evans and Bill van der Mey taking home the Club Dubbo vouchers. Hayley Sharpe, Leanne Erwin and Dianne Wilson secured second place and collected the CD dollars.

State Pennants

Our Men’s Division 1 and Women’s Division 2 pennant teams recently competed at Griffith and Figtree Sports. A full report on their performances will be included next week.

Our Bowls Manager, Anthony Brown, was proud to be part of the New South Wales Para Blues team that claimed an excellent Test Series victory over Queensland last week in Brisbane. Anthony delivered a strong and consistent performance in the blue colours, representing both West Dubbo and New South Wales with distinction.

Congratulations to Anthony and the entire NSW Para Blues team on a terrific series win!
