Sunny skies on Saturday, August 1, masked a cool afternoon for the 13 Bowlers that lined up for the DRT Bowls mixed competition.

The match consisted of one triples game with a swinging lead and two pairs games. Winners were Barry Young and Anthony Coe, who defeated Dennis Crimmins and Judy O'Connor. Ian Richards, Gaye Cottee and Greg Hough defeated Ian Richards, Cheryl Storch and Peter Lesueur. Annette McMillan and Merrill O'Sullivan also defeated Julian Holden and Paul Wooldridge.

There were no resters for the day, and the jackpot was not won.

On Tuesday, August 4, Ladies Day had a good roll up of 15 taking to the greens for the Dubbo RSL Rhino Lodge event featuring two triples games, one with a swinging lead, and one pairs game.

The winners, coming from the pairs game, were Chris Sinclair and Trish Gosper who defeated Sue O'dea and Cheryl Storch. Mary Perry, Wanda King and Karen Greenhalgh also defeated Robyn Hellyer, Ruby Stockings and Judy O'Connor while Kerri Dickson, Pat Sherwin and Annette McMillan defeated Kerri Dickson, Trish Gaio and Beryl Hobson.

Lucky draw winners were Kerri Dickson and Therese Gaio, and Mary Perry had the only rester for the day.

On Wednesday, August 5, Men’s Bowls had an excellent turnout for the Tooheys Brewery Triples and Pairs games, with four triples and two pairs events the order of the day.

Winners for the morning were Barry Young (fresh from his win on Saturday), Eric Satchell and Matt Quill, who defeated John McKenzie, Nick Birbiles and Steve Kelly.

Second place went to Paul “The Phantom” Goodstat, Frank Armstrong and Greg Hough, who defeated Allan Parker, Norm Johnston and Doug Aldis, while Paul Wooldridge and Wayne Thompson defeated Vitt Mascaro and Ian Hobson.

Terry Duncan, Robert Pfeiffer and Allan Davies also defeated Ken Whitiker, Eric Bradshaw and Todd O'dea and Dennis Jasprizza and Phil Knight defeated Bryan O'Sullivan and Peter Sinclair. Leo Balstad, Ross Pharo and Doug Back combined to defeat Dennis Crimmins, Ian Richards and Col Cottee.

Closest game went to Terry Duncan, Robert Pfeiffer and Allan Davies and resters for the morning were Paul Wooldridge, Wayne Thompson and Eric Satchell.

The jackpot was not won and lives until next week.
