Another very good roll up at Sporties for the RSL Combination Bowls last Sunday, November 23, had 44 players for morning competition.

The drawcard must be the Christmas vouchers, which are still there for the taking, with 10 being drawn each week till the last bowling day before Christmas.

Some bowlers, however, certainly did well for themselves winning other prizes also.

The team of Maurice Wallace, Garry Huggins, and Peter Sinclair took the win with an indisputable 29 shots from Di Hildebrandt, Peter Bennison, and Neil Hayburn on seven.

A pairs game on Rink 10 between Frank Armstrong and Rick See, who took second place for the day, from opponents Ross Pharo and Paul Goodstat, saw a final score of 18-7.

Third place went to Gavin Cullen, Ruby Stockings, and Mick Strawhan bowling an impressive 21 shots against the team of Ken Whittaker, Peter Collins, and Gaye Cottee on 10 shots.

The team of Ron McCauley, Shirley Marchant, and Graham Ross won their game with only three shots the difference bowling 15-12 from the lady who “keeps-on keeping-on” Mary Perry, along with Paul Woodbridge and new player, Nathan Goodridge.

Chris Castlehouse, Mary Emblem, and Tod O’Dea also won their game, bowling 21-12 shots from Sue McCauley, Eric Satchell, and Steve Kelly.

Ros Joseph, Dick Whiteford, and Mel Giddings also held their own to win their game by 18-14 from Sue O’Dea, Ray Strawhan, and Rod Pfieffer.

Quite a close result between the teams of Sue Armstrong, Terese Gaio, and Anthony Coe, who managed to bowl the two winning shots making it 18-16 from Roger Sherwin, Leo Balstad, and Bryan O’Sullivan.

Chris Stroajny and Col Cottee won their game with 20 shots from Jenni Spratt and Gordon Scltt on eight.

Ken Whittaker, Chris Castlehouse, and Mel Giddings were the winners of the three “resters” this week, while Rob Pfieffer, Chris Caslehouse, and Eric Satchell won the lucky numbers.

The Christmas Party will be held on Saturday, December 6, at Sporties. Don’t miss out, get your name in.
