Great roll up for Saturday afternoon mixed and Wednesday morning Men’s Bowls, but unfortunately, the Ladies’ Day Tuesday bowls was washed out.

Saturday Mixed Bowls was strongly contested by 20 players who took to the greens for the NBE Electrical Triples and Pairs events. There were a couple of high scoring games in these events, with the winners coming from the pairs game of Frank Armstrong and Col Cottee, who defeated Gai Teale and Beryl Hobson.

Terry Duncan and Doug Back defeated John McKenzie and Peter Lesueur, while Peter Knaggs, Gaye Cottee and Ian Hobson defeated Dennis Crimmins, Anne Knaggs and Anthony Coe. Annette McMillan, Trevor Sharpham and Michelle Harkin also defeated Barry Young, Eric Bradshaw and Judy O'Connor.

Peter Lesueur had the only rester for the day, and the jackpot was not won.

Wednesday morning Men’s Social Bowls had 33 players participate in the Western Plains Security and Locksmiths Triples and Pairs games, the match consisting of five Triples games, one with a swinging lead, and one Pairs game.

The winners on the day came from the Triples game when Ray Tickle (visitor), Eric Satchell and Peter Sinclair (two weeks in the winner’s circle now for Peter) defeated Dick Whitford, H. Dent (visitor) and Wayne Thompson.

Second place went to B. Dent, Todd O'dea and Col Cottee, who defeated Ken Whitiker, Leo Balstad and Matt Quill, while in third place was the team of Dennis Crimmins, Doug Aldis and Doug Back, who defeated Barry Young, Dennis Jasprizza and Greg Hough.

In other results, Bryan O'Sullivan and Mike Twohill defeated Greg Brown and Neil Hayburn. (Back after two weeks on the high seas) Ian Richards, Terry Duncan and Steve Kelly defeated Ian Richards, Chris Strojny and Ian Hobson. Allan Parker, Eric Bradshaw and Allan Andriske (visitor) also defeated Geoff Higgins, Mel Giddings and Steve Buttsworth.

Closest game went to Bryan O'Sullivan and Mike Twohill, while resters for the day were Allan Parker and Wayne Thompson. The jackpot was not won and lives until next week.

Don't forget that the wrong bias tin is now in play Saturday and Wednesday.
