Total of 25 Ducks made their way to the remedial waters of Dubbo RSL’s Indoor Pool on Sunday.

This was Week Three of the Ducks Championships and swimmers of all ages competed in a 100m Freestyle race; the 25m Freestyle RSL sprint, and an Under 60 and Over 60 blast down the pool. As in all Championship events, the results are held in secret by the Time Lords until presentation night.

Two handicap events also took place on the day. The first, a 50-metre breaststroke in which Amy Barling and Koa Mafiti zoomed way past their set-times to disqualify, to hand on a silver platter, first place to Neil Harris, followed by Mia Uebergang and Warren Williams in third.

To finish the morning, a 25m first place butterfly – normally run as an 'at Go' race – was instead run under handicap rules with heats and finals. Jack Allen and Mark Scullard were racing as if for national selection, easily breaking their times, leaving Katharine O'Rourke to scoop first and Nicole Johnstone to take second.

It was great to see Greg Salmon back on the pool deck and helping out with the timekeeping duties. Lucky numbers went to Mia Uebergang and Craig Ross.

The Dubbo Ducks' Presentation Night will be held at Dubbo RSL Club on Saturday, May 30,where an extensive list of winners and results will be revealed.

New swimmers to the Duckpond are always welcome. Enquiries to Henry whose details can be found under “Sunday” in the Community Diary section of this paper.

With Easter approaching next Sunday, March 29, the Ducks will return to a four-card event with no swim on Easter Sunday. That's this week’s tidings from the Duckpond.
