High-tech smartboards recently arrived at a local pre-school in Dubbo to help make a positive difference in our littlies' early learning.
This follows Dubbo West Preschool's success in securing a $15,000 grant.
“These new smartboards will not only benefit the educators by opening the door for more staff development, they’ll also make learning even more interactive and fun for the students at Dubbo West Preschool," Member for Dubbo Dugald Saunders said.
“I know all too well how important these services are to our community and so the funding will make a positive difference for our young learners,” he added.
The money was part of hundreds of state-wide grants focussed particularly on areas of greatest need, Minister for Education and Early Learning Sarah Mitchell said.
The funding can be used by services for a range of activities such as providing transport services to improve access, bringing in specialised staff for Aboriginal children and children from low-income families, and minor capital works such as renovations and new play areas.
“These grants had an overwhelming response from the sector, which is fantastic because it means more children, especially from disadvantaged backgrounds, will benefit,” Ms Mitchell said.
