The Combined Churches of Narromine will once again join forces to host Christmas Carols for the community on the evening of Saturday, December 6 in Narromine.

The early evening event will be held on the lawn at St Andrews Uniting Church, opposite Dundas Park at the intersection of Meryula Street and the Mitchell Highway.

It will feature a festive songlist with traditional and modern carols sung by members of local churches, the Narromine Singers, and we understand choirs from at least two local schools will also be participating this year.

Reverend Tim Robinson will also perform his popular puppet show with enthusiastic sidekick Bobby. Last year's puppetry efforts with chocolates had everyone in stitches - just what will Bobby say this year, we wonder? And will we hear him sing?

In previous years, the Community Christmas Carols would usually take place much closer to Christmas. However, that timing has often meant that some families in the community missed the opportunity to attend due to early vacations or the onset of school holidays.

This year, the event is taking place early in December so that local families can enjoy the Community Christmas Carols before school ends for the year.

Gates will open at 6.30pm and carol singing will commence at 7.30 pm, so come early to grab your spot. There will be a Combined Churches' low-cost sausage sizzle available on the night, but families are welcome to bring in their own snacks and non-alcoholic drinks if desired and have a picnic on the lawn before the carolling gets underway.

If you'd like to attend the Community Christmas Carols, you need to bring with you:

  • A rug or chair to sit on

  • Insect repellent (in case it is needed)

  • Snacks and non-alcoholic drinks, if desired

  • Your best singing voice.
