News came through during the week that several swimmers have surpassed significant milestones for Dubbo Ducks.

Nicole Johnstone has racked-up an amazing 402 Sunday mornings in the pool, while Glenn Smith is two shy of his double century, while “young” Jack Allen and “the returning” Mal Cavanagh have chalked up 102 and 108 swims respectively.

These of course, are a long way shy of super-fish, Greg Salmon with 1194 swims!

In recent results, Janine Gardiner advises that Kyle Wherritt won the 25-metre Freestyle event on Sunday, ahead of Jack Allen and Josh Bird.

“In the 2x25-metre Breast Relay, certain Ducks were pulling ‘foxy’ manoeuvres,” Janine said with a wry smile.

“They were taking cunning sideways glances to check their position in the pack but, the worst offenders, still ended-up breaking and didn’t make the final,” she added.

Tom Gray and Andy Taylor finished first of “the legals”, with Billy Greenwood and Janine Gardiner second and the Gardiner men, Harry and Euan, third.

Nicole Johnstone celebrated her fourth century (plus) with a win in the 25-metre Breast/25-metre Freestyle event ahead of Henry “Flippers” Wilcockson in second and the old grey, Tommy, rounding-out the placings.

The 25-metre Backstroke off “go” was also taken-out by Mark Sullard ahead of Janine Gardiner and Nicole.

Ducks and others, don’t forget to put your team together for next Thursday’s Clive Rootes Legacy Relay!
